Commodores Welcome

Every year the HSBC Premier Coastal Classic gets better and better.

The race itself doesn’t change– it starts in Auckland and finishes in Russell and the weather isn’t in our control. But the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club does spend a lot of time and effort making the pre- and after race events as much fun as possible, and this year is no different.

With the exception of Zana Konica Minolta’s run of 8 hours 29 minutes set in 2005, all of the divisional race records have stood since 1996. Twelve years on, we know that our boats are faster, and we are just waiting for that South-Easterly blast to slingshot us up the coast.

Thank you very much to HSBC, and to all of our divisional sponsors and supporters, as well as boat owners and their crews and families, for 27 years of great sailing.

Whether records are set or not this Labour Weekend, the party in Russell is always a night to remember as the HSBC Premier Coastal Classic takes over the town for the weekend.
